Deborah Evans Martin

Deborah Evans Martin, age 76, of Easley, South Carolina, formerly of Laurinburg, NC, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, May 13th, 2026. Deborah is survived by her son, Kevin Martin (Diana); daughter, Lauren St.Clair (Phillip); brother, David Evans (Betty Jean); two grandchildren, Daniel and Ryan Martin and two nephews. Deborah was preceded in death by her parents, David and Martha Evans. Deborah was quite active and worked as a registered nurse, lovingly caring for her patients for over 30 years. She completed the nursing program at Greenville Technical College, worked at Easley Baptist Hospital and retired from the SC State Department of Corrections. Deborah was an amazing mother to her children – a Cub Scout den troop leader guiding scouts through hands-on activities and fun adventures. She rarely missed a Green Wave baseball or football game, being a dedicated cheerleader and fixture in the bleachers. Nothing brought her more happiness than watching her loved ones doing what they loved. She was a fabulous cook. No one could replicate her brown rice recipe, and her broccoli casserole was always a favorite at family gatherings. Deborah cherished her family. She loved to travel and her absolute favorite journeys were the ones that allowed her to spend time with her beloved grandsons. Movies, birthday parties, water balloon fights, and amusement parks were a regular occasion for Debbie and her boys. Those moments with ultimately were her greatest treasures. Deborah had a lifelong passion for live entertainment and loved the magic of the stage. Some of her fondest memories were made attending concerts, plays, and musicals, especially when she was able to share these experiences with her family and friends. She was a season ticket holder at the Mill Town Players Theatre in Pelzer, SC since the day they opened their doors. Music always filled her house, bringing joy to all who entered. Beach music was her absolute favorite, followed by Elvis, the soulful sound of Motown and classic country. Above all, Deborah loved the Lord with all her heart. An internment will be held at Hillcrest Memorial Park at a later date with the family. In lieu of flowers, please direct donations to your local Miracle Hill.
