Margaret "Diane" Hamma

Margaret "Dee" Hamma ANDERSON, SC - Dee Hamma, 74, of Anderson, South Carolina, wife of the late George W. Hamma, entered into eternal rest on the morning of December 1, 2020. Married to her soulmate and true love, she was George's devoted wife for 45 years, including 23 years serving as a military spouse while George served in the U.S. Air Force (retired a Master Sergeant). A world traveler, Dee lived with George in Florida, Washington, South Carolina, Europe, and the Middle East, though her heart's home was always Anderson, SC. Dee is survived by her dearest and lifelong friend, Judy Rubertino, whom Dee considered to be her daughter, and found life's riches in helping raise Angela (Adam) Woody and her godchild Elyssa (Matt) Yantis, whom Dee considered to be her granddaughters. Dee's "great grandchildren", Angela and Elyssa's children, brought her tremendous joy and she loved to spoil them with her love. She is additionally survived by her sister Lynn (Martin) Rood, her nephew Randy (Lisa) Rood, and family and friends near and far. Dee greatly enjoyed reading, playing Words with Friends, and doing crossword puzzles, as well cuddling with her dog Mischka. She also liked playing cards and talking and texting regularly with her family and friends, especially dear friends DeDe Kearns, Danese Sizer, and Janet Fox. She has touched the lives of so many friends, family, and neighbors around the world. She will be missed beyond words by those who felt her kindness, generosity, love, and support. Dee's calming nature and sweet disposition brightened all of our lives and will remain with us forever in our hearts. Given the COVID-19 pandemic, the family has elected not to hold a formal service.
