Mrs. Joan Marie "Ma" Cox Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

EASLEY SC – Mrs. Joan Marie “Ma” (James) Cox, age 80, loving wife of the late Estle Cox, passed away on Thursday, September 23, 2021. She was a very loving woman, who loved everyone she met and who brought joy to all who knew her. Mrs. Cox was born on June 28, 1941 to the late Lawrence James and Eleanor Ruth (Dickard) James. She was a Certified Nursing Assistant at several local nursing homes for over 35 years. She enjoyed spending her “golden years” traveling, and especially going between Delray Beach, Florida and Fletcher, North Carolina. Mrs. Cox is survived by one daughter: Robin Carol (Cox) LoConte and her husband John, of Delray Beach, Florida; two sons: Lawrence Grant Cox and his wife Sandra, of Liberty, and Michael Allen Cox and his wife Kelly Slone, of Easley; a sister: Catherine (James) Wilson of Liberty; a brother: Kenneth James of Easley; seven granddaughters: Amanda Hines, Shannon LoConte, Samantha Lusk, Savannah Cox, Kristin Cox, Lisa Cox, and Brittany Cox; two grandsons: David LoConte and Joseph Cox; and eight great-grandchildren. In addition to her husband and parents, Mrs. Cox is preceded in death by one sister: Francis Harbin; and two grandchildren: Joshua Cox, and baby girl Cox. A Memorial Service was held at 3:00 PM, Saturday, September 25th at Corinth Baptist Church. 515 E. Church Road, Easley, SC 29642. Palmetto Cremation Service is assisting the family.
